Celia is a stay-at-home mom of one, sweet infant. She has always been an active person, right up until the day she delivered. After the baby came, her lifestyle was forced to change dramatically. Letting her body recuperate may have been more difficult than the pregnancy. Then, after she’d completely recovered, her schedule revolved around baby. If he wasn’t eating, he was crying; if he wasn’t crying, he needed to be entertained. In between all of that there were still errands and chores and dinner and…And everything but exercise. She was ready to be active again and lose her “baby weight,” but baby had other things in mind.

She tried doing exercise routines to videos, but the time it took to work her whole body far exceeded baby’s naptime. Treadmills were okay, but she never felt like it was accomplishing much. Weight sets were bulky, expensive and didn’t offer cardio workouts. She’d almost resigned herself to a permanent wardrobe of maternity clothes, until she got a phone call from a friend. She told Celia that she’d just received her Edge 299e Elliptical Trainer and that it was all set up. She was so excited and wanted Celia to come see it.

Celia had her doubts, but decided to humor her friend. So, she packed up the diaper bag, and she and baby headed over to see the new “toy.” Once she got there, she was a little surprised and a lot skeptical at the simplicity of the machine. There were no pulleys or hooks, no safety hazards or emergency stop buttons. It was just a simple machine that moved with your body. It fit into a corner, and there was a full view of the room from that spot. Okay, Celia thought, but does it really work?
Her friend had been gushing about it since she got there, so Celia decided to try it for herself. She sat baby in the floor with a book and toy, and stepped onto the Edge 299e elliptical trainer. It was easy to use, she simply moved her feet in a walking pattern. The machine was so quiet that baby didn’t even look up. It didn’t feel like a challenge and Celia wanted to increase one of the eight levels of resistance, but her friend warned her that the workout isn’t felt right away. Twenty minutes passed as Celia worked the elliptical, and her friend talked the whole time. The pulse sensors in the hand grip told Celia she’d reached her target heart rate and held it for awhile, so she decided to stop. The baby didn’t even notice she’d been busy.

Celia thanked her friend for showing the Edge 299e elliptical trainer to her and went home for baby’s nap. She still wasn’t sold on it until the next morning when not only her legs felt worked, but her bottom, stomach, and upper body as well! She called her friend right then and discovered it cost less than $500. It was delivered to her home in two weeks, and five months later she has packed the last of her maternity clothes away.
